Youth Clubs

RFA’s clubs offers autistic children and young people an opportunity to socialise with peers, try new things and just have fun with peers, in a supportive and accepting environment.

Our clubs centre on various exciting activities and discussion topics and our focus is fun!  Support can be given to enable our young people to make the transition from home to clubs through home visits, social stories, visual supports, in fact, anything that might help. Clubs are age and ability specific and once your referral is received your child will be assessed as to which club would best suit their needs as tailored recommendations.

Please that although we can’t provide transport to and from clubs that we are willing to help negotiate with local social services for assistance where appropriate. There is also> likely to be a waiting list for some clubs.

Where: Clubs run at weekends and after school in various venues.

London: Clubs are offered for young people aged 8-19 in Barnet, Newham and Waltham Forest.

West Midlands: Clubs are offered for young people aged 5-18 in Birmingham and Walsall.

Costs: The costs depends on the local authority and your personal circumstances. In most cases, spaces are funded through Local Authority short breaks. There is a small contribution fee which is means tested and no one is turned away for financial reasons but everyone pays at least something. Refer to your local authority Short Breaks Local Offer for details of other schemes running in your area.

There is a waiting list to access some clubs.
